Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of HandyMan (get-handyman.com and the HandyMan Android and iOS apps, together, the "Service"), operated by Procode FZ-LLC, a Free Zone Limited Liability Company registered in the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), United Arab Emirates ("HandyMan", "we", or "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our separate Privacy Policy.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a binding agreement. You may not use the Service if applicable sanctions or export-control laws prohibit us from providing it to you.

1a. Where the Service is available

HandyMan operates in the United Arab Emirates and the United States. Three things are checked against a country, and they are not checked the same way. Creating an account is checked against the country your internet connection appears to come from at the time. If that cannot be determined, we use the country of the city you gave us; if neither is known, the sign-up is allowed. Posting a job is checked against where the work is, taken from the address you give for it and not from your connection, so you can post a job at your home address while travelling. Offering to do work is checked against the country recorded for the professional, which also decides whether they appear in search results.

We may also restrict a country outright, in which case the Service is unavailable from that country on the website and in the apps alike. We may add or remove countries at any time. Restricting a country restricts access; by itself it does not delete anyone's account or data, and it does not affect your right to obtain a copy of your data or to ask us to delete it. 2. The marketplace

HandyMan connects clients with independent home-service professionals. HandyMan is not the employer, agent, insurer, or service provider of either party and is not a party to their service agreement. Professionals set their own offers, availability, and working methods. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, HandyMan does not guarantee identity, licensing, background, quality, availability, or results.

A pro may choose to share their live location while on the way to a job; they can withdraw it at any time. A client may use a pro's live location only to receive that service, and must not record, publish or share it.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to offer services as a professional.

4. Professionals, verification & safety

Professionals are responsible for legally required licences, permits, insurance, taxes, and safe work practices. A verified badge means that specified information or documents were reviewed; it is not a guarantee, endorsement, background check, or warranty. Clients should verify qualifications appropriate to the task and use their own judgement. Do not use the Service for emergencies; contact local emergency services instead.

5. User content & conduct

Requests, offers, profiles, photos, portfolio items, messages, and reviews are user-generated content ("UGC"). Before posting UGC, you agree that you have the necessary rights and that your content and conduct will comply with these rules.

• Provide truthful requests, offers, credentials, and reviews. Reviews must reflect genuine experiences.
• Do not post or solicit illegal services, fraud, scams, spam, malware, dangerous activity, or content that infringes intellectual-property or privacy rights.
• Do not post sexual or pornographic content, child sexual abuse or exploitation material, hate speech, threats, harassment, bullying, violent extremism, or content promoting self-harm.
• Do not impersonate another person, expose another person's sensitive information without permission, or discriminate unlawfully.
• Do not bypass security, scrape data, manipulate ratings, create fake accounts, or interfere with the Service.

You can report content or users and separately block users inside the app. We may review, restrict, remove, or preserve reported content; warn, suspend, or terminate users; and cooperate with authorities when required by law. Reports are assessed as promptly as reasonably possible based on severity. For urgent safety threats, contact local authorities.

6. Transactions & payments

Payments for physical home services are arranged directly between the client and professional unless the Service clearly offers another method. Each party is responsible for agreeing on scope, price, materials, cancellation, and payment. If optional paid platform features are introduced, their price, renewal, refund, and cancellation terms will be shown before purchase and the applicable app-store or payment-provider terms will also apply.

7. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of your UGC. You grant HandyMan a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and transmit that content only as needed to operate, secure, moderate, and improve the Service. You represent that you have the rights needed to grant this licence. The HandyMan name, design, software, and non-user content remain protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

8. Suspension, termination & deletion

We may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, comply with law, or enforce these Terms. You may stop using the Service and permanently delete your account in the Android or iOS app under Profile → Delete account, on the website under Settings → Delete account, or by e-mail as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and are not responsible for user conduct, the quality or legality of physical services, or indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Export controls & sanctions

You must comply with applicable United States and other export-control and sanctions laws. You may not use, export, or re-export the Service in violation of those laws or on behalf of a prohibited or sanctioned person or entity.

11. Governing terms

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, without limiting mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. We may update these Terms; material changes will be communicated in a reasonable manner before they take effect when required by law.
