Confirmed phone, real reviews
A pro confirms their phone number by SMS before they can answer a job, and only a client who hired them can leave a review. The rest you judge yourself — photo, portfolio, rating. In the UAE a pro also needs a trade licence and an Emirates ID, checked by Stripe before they can take a job.
Pay when the job is done
In the UAE the price is held on your card and charged after you confirm the work; report a problem and nothing is charged until it is settled. In the US you settle up with the pro directly — HandyMan does not handle the payment there.
Real reviews
A rating can only be left by a client whose job was actually done — which is why a new pro has no stars rather than five.
Disputes and support
The chat with the pro and the job’s status stay in the app as a record. If something goes wrong, open a dispute and we look into it.

The six things people ask before their first job
How much does HandyMan cost?
Posting a job and getting offers is free. In the UAE you pay through HandyMan: the price of the work plus a service fee shown before you pay. Pros join and respond for free; in the UAE HandyMan keeps 7.7% of each job paid through it. In the US pros pay no commission for now.
How fast will I get an offer?
It depends on how many pros work near you. If some are on the line close by, your job goes to them first and you may see offers within minutes; if not, it is open to all pros in your city right away. HandyMan opens market by market, so in a brand-new city it can take a while — and a push arrives the moment the first offer lands. We cannot promise when a pro will arrive: the time in an offer is the pro's own estimate.
How do you check the pros?
A pro who has confirmed their phone number by SMS carries a badge saying so. In the UAE a pro can also add their trade licence or freelance permit: we compare it with the issuing authority’s register, and the card then shows “License verified”, who issued the licence and until when it is valid. In the UAE every pro who takes orders also has a trade licence (or freelance permit) and an Emirates ID: our payment partner Stripe checks both before the pro can be paid, and without them the pro cannot take a job. Beyond that, judge by what is on their card: photo, portfolio, rating, and reviews that only clients they actually worked for can leave. Read them before you choose, and agree the details in the chat.
Who sets the price?
The pro does, in their offer. You see the price before you accept anything and can put several offers side by side. A pro who accepts a job quickly from nearby gives an approximate price. In the UAE the pro sends a price proposal in the chat; when you accept it, the money is held on your card and charged only after you confirm the work. In the US you settle up with the pro directly.
What if something goes wrong?
Every job has a status you can dispute, and the chat with the pro stays in the app as a record of what was agreed. Write to us from Feedback and we step in.
Can I take jobs on the website only?
Yes: the website shows all open jobs and you can respond to them. But urgent jobs nearby go first to pros on the line in the HandyMan app — to get them first, download the app and go on the line.
