The work in Dubai
Most painting in Dubai is a tenancy obligation: the flat goes back to the landlord in the colour it came in, so the busiest week for a painter is the last week of somebody’s lease. Clients on HandyMan list the rooms, the surfaces and the colour, and painters quote for the jobs they want.
- Move-out repaints back to the original colour
- Single rooms, studios and apartments
- Villa interiors, ceilings and stairwells
- Touch-ups and filling holes before a handover
- Feature walls and colour changes

What you need in the UAE
To receive payouts you connect a business account. Have these ready — it takes about ten to fifteen minutes:
- A trade licence or a freelance permit that covers the work, and its number.
- Your Emirates ID (or passport).
- The IBAN of your UAE bank account — that is where your money goes.
- Many towers ask for a work permit and limit noisy or smelly work to certain hours. Ask the client what the building needs before you confirm the dates.
- Damp, mould or a stain that keeps coming back has a cause. Say so rather than painting over it.
HandyMan does not issue licences or permits, and nothing here is legal advice — the rules are yours to meet.
Questions painters ask
Who supplies the paint?
Agree it with the client and put it in your offer: the brand, the colour code and how many coats, or that the client buys the paint.
How do I price a flat?
You set the price for each request. Clients list the rooms, ceilings and wall condition; our Dubai painting price guide shows what other providers publish.
How do I get paid?
In the UAE the client pays for the job by card through HandyMan, and you are paid out to your Stripe account after the client confirms the work. How payment, the fees and payouts work is set out in the Terms.
What do I need to receive payouts?
In the UAE payouts go to a business account: a trade licence or freelance permit that covers the work and its number, your Emirates ID (or passport), and the IBAN of your UAE bank account. Stripe asks for them when you connect payouts; HandyMan does not receive copies.
