The work in Dubai

Dubai moves house every summer. Tenancies turn over on a yearly cycle, and every handover is a move: an apartment emptied into a van, a wardrobe taken apart and rebuilt across town, a sofa that has to go down twenty floors in a service lift booked for an hour. Clients on HandyMan describe the move — rooms, large items, floors and lifts at both ends — and movers quote for the jobs they want.

How it works

  1. 1

    Create your profile

Choose movers as your trade, set the area you cover and the price you start from.

  2. 2

    Quote on requests near you

Requests are matched by distance and trade. You choose which ones to answer and at what price.

  3. 3

    Do the job, get paid

The client pays by card through HandyMan, and you are paid out after they confirm the work.

What you need in the UAE

To receive payouts you connect a business account. Have these ready — it takes about ten to fifteen minutes:

HandyMan does not issue licences or permits, and nothing here is legal advice — the rules are yours to meet.

Questions movers ask

Do I need my own truck?

Not for every job. Some clients need a crew to load or unload a vehicle they have hired; others want the whole move. Say in your profile and in each offer whether you bring a vehicle and what size.

How do I price a move?

You set the price for each request. Clients list the rooms, the large items and the access at both ends, so you can quote for the job rather than guess. Our Dubai moving price guide shows what other providers publish.

How do I get paid?

In the UAE the client pays for the job by card through HandyMan, and you are paid out to your Stripe account after the client confirms the work. How payment, the fees and payouts work is set out in the Terms.

What do I need to receive payouts?

In the UAE payouts go to a business account: a trade licence or freelance permit that covers the work and its number, your Emirates ID (or passport), and the IBAN of your UAE bank account. Stripe asks for them when you connect payouts; HandyMan does not receive copies.

What does it cost to join?

Creating a pro profile is free. You choose the requests you answer and set your own price for each one.
