Find movers for your home move

Moving quotes depend on volume, distance and access far more than on the number of rooms alone. A request that lists the large items, the floors, lifts and parking at both ends, and what needs packing lets movers price the same job.

Availability varies by city and the distance each pro chooses to cover. Pros send their own offers. You pay for the job by card through HandyMan, as set out in the Terms.

What a move costs in the UAE

Typical ranges for a full move within one city, with a crew and a vehicle. Distance between emirates, packing materials, high floors without a service lift and weekend dates usually move a quote up.

One-bedroom apartment move
AED 1,000–1,600
Two-bedroom apartment move
AED 1,800–2,800

What kind of move are you planning?

Choose the closest situation and describe both ends of the move. Movers price access and volume, so say what you know about lifts, parking and building rules, and say what you do not know yet.

A full apartment or villa move

Give the number of bedrooms, list the large items room by room, and say whether anything stays behind. Name the floor, the lift (passenger or service) and the parking at both addresses, the move date and time window, and whether the buildings need a move-in or move-out permit.

A few large items

List each item with its approximate size, add a photograph, and say whether it must be dismantled to leave the room. Mention narrow stairs, tight corners or a lift that may be too small, and whether the item needs wrapping.

Loading or unloading only

Say who provides the vehicle and its size, how many items or boxes there are, the floors and lifts involved, and how long the vehicle is booked for. Ask the crew to confirm how many people will come.

Packing and fragile items

Say which rooms need packing, whether boxes and wrapping should be supplied, and list fragile or valuable items such as glass tables, artwork, a television or musical instruments. Ask how each will be protected and whether the offer covers unpacking.

Most managed buildings in the UAE require a move-in or move-out permit and book the service lift for a fixed slot; ask both buildings before you fix the date. Disconnecting gas, water or electrical appliances belongs with the appropriate trade, not the moving crew.

What to put in the request

The same written scope gives every pro the same job to price and makes their offers easier to compare.

  1. 1 List the large items room by room and attach photographs.
  2. 2 Give the floor, lift and parking details for both addresses.
  3. 3 Say what needs packing, dismantling or reassembly, and who supplies boxes.
  4. 4 Ask whether the offer includes the vehicle, crew size, materials and waiting time.

Movers in the UAE

Managed towers and communities usually ask for a move permit, a deposit and a booked service-lift slot, and some restrict moves to set hours or weekdays. Moving between emirates takes longer and is priced differently from a move within one city, so name both emirates in the request.

Questions people ask

How do I get comparable moving quotes?

Send every mover the same inventory, photographs and access details for both addresses. Compare what each offer includes: crew size, vehicle, packing materials, dismantling, and how waiting time or extra items are charged.

Do I need a permit to move in or out?

Often, yes. Most managed buildings require a move-in or move-out permit and a booked service lift. Ask building management at both addresses before you confirm the date with the movers.

Will movers dismantle and reassemble furniture?

Ask explicitly and list the items. Beds and wardrobes frequently need dismantling to leave a room; make it part of the written scope so it is priced up front rather than added on the day.

What affects the price most?

The volume of belongings, the distance, the floors and lift access at both ends, packing, and the date. A high floor without a service lift or a move between emirates usually costs more than the same inventory moved locally.
