What moves the price in Miami
Above the national average and below New York. The seasonal swing is real: rates and availability both tighten in the winter season, and again in the weeks after any serious storm.
Condo towers require approval from the association and often a licensed, insured contractor on their own approved list — not merely someone who is licensed. Anything affecting the exterior envelope will need permits and is not handyman work at any price. Ask the association first; in Miami they will have an opinion.
When the job needs a licensed contractor
Miami-Dade County — Miami-Dade County contractor licensing, alongside Florida DBPR. Florida requires no state licence for minor non-structural work — mounting, minor carpentry, door repairs — but structural work, and each of the trades, requires state certification or registration. On top of that Miami-Dade runs its own county licensing and enforcement under Chapter 10 of the county code, which is stricter than much of the state. Two layers, and the county one is the one people forget.

Is the store's own assembly service worth it?
Sometimes — retailers run promotions where delivery and assembly come with the purchase, and that is free money. Outside a promotion, a store flat rate and an independent charging by the hour land close on one item, and the independent wins on volume.
Will they anchor it to the wall?
Ask before booking. Tall furniture should be anchored, and it needs the right fastener for the actual wall — drywall over studs, plaster over lath in older buildings, and concrete in a high-rise are three different problems that look identical under the paint. Say what you think your wall is; a good assembler will verify before drilling.
What if a part is missing from the box?
It is not something the assembler can fix — nobody carries spare cam bolts for every product on the market. Check the parts against the manifest before the appointment if you can, and mention at booking that a return visit might be needed so it is priced fairly rather than as a new job.
